The Kensington CoolView Monitor Stand with built-in Desk Fan is designed to do two things: position your monitor higher, and keep you cool. Seems simple enough, but here’s what makes it interesting. It’s shaped to fit precisely under the monitor stand, and it’s powered by USB. So it takes up no additional space on your desk or along your power strip.
Yes, we’re accustomed to having fans in the office, whether they’re the large floor units, or a clip-on little fan near the monitor, or a box fan sitting on top of the printer. That shows how often we print, doesn’t it?
The beauty of the Kensington CoolView is the fan goes right under the monitor, so it can conveniently blast your face without taking up any more space, or potentially damage your monitor by hanging from it. There’s also an included cable management system with magnetic clips, so you can really keep the whole unit tidy.
The CoolView stand can hold monitors up to 27 inches and 200 pounds. And the white color make it a shoe in for an iMac workstation. There are two speeds in the fan, and they’re angled upward rather than blowing the papers off your desk. The fan has low-decible noise to keep it quiet – under 37 dba.
The modular design will enable users to swap the fan out with a heater or air purifier, both units coming soon.
