Leica Camera AG has announced the launch of two fast ultra-wide lenses for the L-Mount Alliance – a Leica SL 14-24mm f/2.8 and a Leica APO-Summicron-SL 21mm f/2. This new range of lenses will provide users of L-Mount cameras with more creative possibilities and the best in optical performance.
The new SL 14-24mm f/2.8 lens is a versatile all-rounder for ultra-wide shots. The high-speed lens offers razor-sharp images and maximum brightness down to the edges of the image, with very low distortion. It is suitable for architecture, landscape and travel photographers who want to capture stunning wide angle photographs.
The 21mm f/2 lens on the other hand is perfect for street and documentary photography. This lens has a classic, plain field of focus, and an incredibly compact and lightweight design. With improved performance, the lens offers excellent image quality with virtually no distortion.
Both lenses feature extremely robust construction and are waterproof and dust-resistant for all-weather shooting. They are made of robust metal, with special seals for dust and splash protection, making them ideal for shooting outdoors.
In addition, both lenses feature fast autofocusing, thanks to the latest autofocus technology. The lenses also support manual focusing as well as automatic aperture control.
