Highlights from Apple’s “Wonderlust” Event
iPhone 15 Series 9 Lightning Retirement Party – Apple held a Wonderlust event at California’s Apple Park that was packed with exciting announcements, including the iPhone 15 series and the much-anticipated retirement of Lightning.
The iPhone 15
Apple debuted the brand-new iPhone 15 series featuring an edge-to-edge OLED display and Face ID. The device’s hardware is powered by the A15 Bionic chip, which makes the device even faster than its predecessor. Apple promises that the iPhone 15 will allow users to explore augmented reality in ways that weren’t possible before.
Retirement of Lightning
At Wonderlust, Apple announced the retirement of its Lightning sockets. This decision has been met with much support from audiophiles, as they now no longer have to juggle two charging cables. Apple has replaced the Lightning sockets with USB-C ports, allowing for faster charging and more versatile cable compatibility.
Lightning Retirement Party
To celebrate the retirement of Lightning, Apple threw a retirement party, complete with a cake shaped like a Lightning cable. It was a tearful goodbye for the beloved socket, but the transition to USB-C was made much easier with the party’s festive atmosphere.
